As a company that’s also a family, we feel a strong desire to give back to our community and country in all kinds of big and little ways. Like organizing an apple drive at the plant to feed local children. Or partnering with professional sports teams to raise funds and awareness for charities. Or handcrafting a bright-pink Peppermint BellaVitano® to raise money for breast cancer research. In line with our core values, Sartori Team Members believe in doing the right thing, in a creative way, to help those who need it.
In line with our charity work and care for the community, we also believe in good stewardship of the land and animals around us. It’s why our offices emphasize paperless work stations and recycling. It’s why our plants have waste management and clean water programs. It’s why we have new bike racks and special parking spots for energy efficient vehicles. And it’s why every Sartori Patron Farmer is committed to milk that is completely free of rBST synthetic hormones—and why every one of them has a fresh water well for their cows. Sure, there are easier ways to make cheese. But since 1939, cutting corners in life or business just isn’t something we do.
Here are just a few of our charitable endeavors:
Local Food Banks
Sartori is a proud partner of Sheboygan County Food Bank, donating thousands of dollars, hours, and pounds of cheese to help members of the Plymouth community who are struggling with hunger. Sheboygan County Food Bank supplies nine food pantries, including those in Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls and Random Lake and six pantries in the city of Sheboygan. We also do creative fundraisers like our successful 2011 online Holiday Auction of very limited and highly sought-after Cognac BellaVitano®.
Dedicated to enriching the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through the fulfillment of childhood dreams, this charity is near and dear to the Sartori family. It is our great wish that the joy provided by Make-A-Wish will give children and their families strength, courage and hope moving into the future. In 2011, we partnered with Mason Crosby of the Green Bay Packers and with the Packers Radio Network to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation by donating $1,000 for every field goal Crosby made.
Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund
The MACC Fund is a great organization dedicated to funding research into childhood cancer and related blood disorders. This research impacts children throughout the country as successful protocols become the standard for patient care everywhere. Fundraising is based on the concept of “a good time for a good cause.” Special events led the way in the beginning and still comprise about 75% of the Fund’s annual income. In 2012, Sartori is partnering with the Milwaukee Brewers to support the MACC Fund.
